What do recent reviews say?

Reviews split sharply. Several diners find the food filling and cheap, especially weekday set lunches and big plates of baked rice. Many others report oily, undercooked, or bland dishes, slow service, and staff who seem curt or hard to understand.

Diners who liked the place praised the big portions, a wide menu, and a quick meal at a mall price point. Complaints centre on the same few problems: long waits for mains, unhelpful waitresses, and dishes that changed taste. One group of 16 also felt the birthday drink policy was too strict.

Many visitors rate the drinks and food well, and the 4.4 star average is strong. The recent reviews, though, return again and again to rude cashiers and slow service. Several 1 star reviews describe waits of 20 to 25 minutes. Regulars say the menu is worth a visit, especially the teh tarik and nasi lemak. Complaints include cold dishes, thin portions, too much ice, and sweetness that some found too strong. One reviewer reported cockroaches on a counter at the 1 Utama branch, which is a serious worry.

Scone quality is the draw: reviewers consistently praise the texture, flavour variety, and generous cream. The staff often go beyond transactional service, with memorable gestures that leave lasting impressions. The English-cottage decor and calm atmosphere appeal to families and solo visitors seeking a quiet retreat. Wait times occasionally disappoint, and reheating can render scones dry; parking requires patience on busy days.
